Minnesotans’ Military Appreciation Fund is honored to announce that the 20th Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General (Retired) Mark A. Milley, will keynote the 2026 Annual Dinner. General Milley served as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the nation’s highest ranking military officer, and the principal military advisor to the President, Secretary of Defense, and National Security Council from October 1, 2019, through his retirement on September 29, 2023. Prior to service as Chairman, General Milley held multiple command and staff positions over his 44 years including serving as the 39th Chief of Staff of the U.S. Army. General Milley graduated with a bachelor’s degree in political science from Princeton University in 1980, where he received his commission from Army ROTC. General Milley also holds master’s degrees in international relations from Columbia University and national security and strategic studies from the U. S. Naval War College, and is a graduate of the MIT Seminar XXI National Security Studies Program.
MMAF is a non-partisan, volunteer run, non-profit organization with a mission of saying “thanks” to Minnesota military service members by providing cash grants to those who have served in a combat zone since 9/11. Since inception in 2005, MMAF has awarded $13.7 million in grants to over 20,150 Minnesota service members and their families. Event expenses will be underwritten by our main sponsor, Sit Investment Associates. Therefore, 100 percent of funds raised at the dinner will go directly to Minnesota service members via MMAF grants.
